SchoolMint Acquired by Hero K12 and BV Investment Partners

Govtech Fund’s first-ever portfolio company acquisition reflects strong demand for govtech startups.

Following its EdTech Platform announcement earlier this year, Hero K12 and BV Investment Partners announced SchoolMint will be joining the platform’s foundation to drive further improvement of school operational efficiencies.

As the leading provider of cloud-based student enrollment and school choice systems for PreK-12 district, charter, and independent schools, the Govtech Fund’sour portfolio company, SchoolMint, is a clear example of Hero K12’s and BV’s investment focus on modernizing solutions within the education system. Additionally, the acquisition of SchoolMint capitalizes on the opportunity to build relationships with families and students that extend beyond the initial enrollment process.

Jinal Jhaveri, Co-founder and CEO of SchoolMint, said in a press release issued today, “Joining the EdTech Platform enables us to continue our mission, gaining resources to help us scale and reach more families, in more communities, nationwide.”

The SchoolMint acquisition reflects the full life cycle of govtech investing: govtech innovation is not only incredibly impactful in modernizing government and repairing the social contract governments have with their citizens but also an investment category highly sought after by strategic investors that in turn drives venture returns level liquidity on invested capital.

We wish the SchoolMint team much continued success!
